Hello, my name is StClair Tweedie and I live in Broomes Island, Maryland.

I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and have lived and worked in the Washington, DC area since the mid 1950's and moved to Broomes Island. MD in 1999.  I received degrees in economics from Old Dominion University in Norforlk, VA and The George Washington University in Washington, DC. I worked in the private sector in the area of business-government relations for thirty years before retiring. This site was conceived to achieve two purposes: to provide a place where our geographically disparate and growing families can share their lives and experiences; and to develop, expand and share our knowledge of our families' history.

I became interested in genealogy when, a few years ago, I realized that our children knew very little about our family's lineage and history.  Also the elders were passing on and their knowledge of the family with them.  I began by assembling data from relatives and records maintained by my mother who kept detailed information - birthdays, weddings, deaths and addresses, on our extended family.  She maintained an extensive collection of photographs on her and my father's families as well as our family spanning about a hundred and 20 years.  (I am currently digitizing and cataloging these to preserve them for future Tweedies).

My mother currently resides in Front Royal, Va and continues to provide advice and commentary on this project.

A great deal of information for this project has been provided by two cousins-David Chosa (on the Chosas and Picards) and Joan Cummings (on the Galagans, and Sullivans).  I sincerely appreciate their scholarly endeavors and contributions to this project.
